Picture Frame Paper Projects For Kids

Anyone that has ever been a parent knows how proud their little ones are when they make a drawing or paint a picture for mommy and daddy. If you want to really show your child how much you love their picture, take the time out to help them make their very own picture frame. Plus you will be spending good quality time with your child.

For this project, you will need the following supplies. Safety scissors for your child to use, a ruler and pencil to draw your inside and outside shapes of your frame with. If you want to draw shapes other than straight lines, you can use different sized cans (Full or Not) As templates. And then you will have to have different colored craft paper. Just make sure that all the supplies including the glue is child safe.

The easiest way to do this for really young kids would be to have your child cut out two L shaped pieces with safety scissors that will be the proper size to fit on the picture. You can then turn one L shape upside down and glue them on to the picture. This will make any young child very happy to have made a frame for their picture with mommy or daddy.

You can also start the cut in the middle and have your child finish cutting out the middle, making a solid frame. If you cut out the middle, you can draw any shape the will let the picture show. This way you will get a unique looking frame. You can even stack two or more of this type paper frame to get a different colors in your frame. Just start out with the smallest center cut out first to fit the picture that you are framing. You can build out from there getting different colors and even different shapes.

To finish off your picture frame, you can use some colored yarn to hang your picture with. Just glue the ends to the back and you will have it. By taking the time to make a Picture frame with your child, you will have a keepsake to pass down to them when they get older.
